Our privacy practices and children
You can review your child's Personal Information by contacting us or using your Parent Account. You may also request that we no longer collect Personal Information from your child or have your child's Personal Information deleted. To do so, contact us at the email address below.
This is the information we collect from and about you and children under 13
We collect all of the following types of information (collectively “Information”). Additionally, from here on out, any reference to “children” means individuals under the age of 13.
We require consent from a parent when a child wants to register an Animal Jam account. During our initial registration process, we directly collect the following information from child users: a parent's email address, the child's account name, and the child's password. WildWorks does not condition a child's participation in any in-app activity on the child providing more personal information than is reasonably necessary for that activity.
Children's Information. We collect what is reasonably necessary for children to participate in our app functions, such as usernames, passwords, gender, age, and chat logs. This may include Personal Information and Anonymous Information.
Personal Information: specific identifiable information about an individual over 13 years of age which may be used to identify, contact or locate that person or entity (e.g. parent name, mailing address, device ID, email address, phone number, online user profile name).
Anonymous Information (Non-Personal): information that, by itself, does not identify a specific individual or entity (e.g. demographic information, usage data). This information is used to improve users’ experience of the app.
Financial Information: information relating to payments and billing (e.g. name, account information, billing address) provided by you. We do not knowingly collect Financial Information from users under 13, although we may collect it from parents via their Parent Account.
Parent's Information. We collect a parent’s email addresses. We may collect this from the child or the parent.
Other information. If you or your child uses our app, we may collect passive usage data, such as what activities are preferred or how long play occurs.
We collect Information in different ways
We collect Information directly. For example, if you or your child creates an account with us. We also collect information if you or your child contacts us.
We collect Information passively. We collect non-personally identifying data about usage of our app, in order to improve the app’s performance and user experience. We analyze this data to improve the app and for internal purposes related to our business. We do not share this information with third parties.

How we use children's Personal Information. Unless permitted by law and strictly for the operation of our services, we only use children's Personal Information after obtaining parental consent. As permitted by law, in some circumstances we may not request parental consent; for example, if we are only going to use the information one time to respond to a direct request, or if we are using Personal Information obtained from a child in order to get parental consent.
How we use parent and guardian Personal Information. We use email addresses to notify parents or guardians that their children have registered an Animal Jam account. We may also use email addresses to communicate about your child's account. We have a parent-directed newsletter that we send to people who sign up to receive it through their Parent Account.
We use children and parent's Personal Information and Anonymous Information to improve our products and services. We may use Information to make our sites and products better. We may use Information to customize you or your child's experience with us. For example, we use Information to store your child's password if he or she registers for our site.
We use Information for security purposes. We may use any Information we collect to protect our company, our customers, and our websites. We also have different methods of chat (more info found here) that players may utilize in Animal Jam (which parents can control or disable through their Parent Account), and we collect and use chat information to improve the gameplay experience and promote safety. We take measures so that users cannot communicate personal information through chat functions. These measures include filters and live moderation. Nonetheless, if you or your child use the chat functions within the app and disclose personally identifiable information, you should be aware that such information could be read, collected or used by other users. We strongly encourage you and your child not to attempt to disclose personal information (such as real name, email address, telephone number, etc.) about the user or about any third party in such chats, and are not responsible for the personally identifiable information you choose to submit through the chat function.
We use Information as otherwise disclosed or permitted by law. For example, we will use Information about children as we describe in parental consent requests.
When we may share information with third parties
When we may share Information. We will share Information if we're required to do so by law, or if we have to respond to a court order or subpoena. We may share it if a government agency or investigatory body requests. We may share Information with outside investigators if we are investigating potential fraud, or in order to improve the security of our services to protect our users.

We may share, transfer or assign Information to any successor to all or part of our business. For example, if part of our business was sold we may transfer our user Information as part of that transaction.
You have certain choices about sharing and marketing practices
You can opt out of receiving our marketing emails. To stop receiving our promotional emails, follow the instructions in any promotional message you get from us. Don't worry! Even if you opt out of getting marketing messages, we will still send you transactional messages. These include responses to your questions, information about your children, or information about your account or your orders.
We use standard security measures
The internet is not 100 percent secure. We cannot promise that your use of our app will be completely safe. We encourage you to use caution when using apps like Animal Jam that send information over the internet. This includes not sharing your passwords. We store Personal Information only as long as it is necessary or relevant for the practices described in this Policy. We also keep information as otherwise required by law.
We filter and moderate our online chat. We also filter usernames in an attempt ensure they don't incorporate children’s Personal Information. Parents, you can take steps to protect your kids too. We store Information in the United States
Information we maintain may be stored both within and outside of the United States. If you live outside of the United States, you understand and agree that we may transfer your information to the United States. Animal Jam is subject to U.S. laws, which may not afford the same level of protection as those in your country.

We may update this Policy
From time to time we may change our privacy policies. We will notify you of any material changes to our Policy as required by law. We will also post an updated copy on our website. Please check our site periodically for updates.
